Certain categories of people can claim for more provision. These are:

  • A Spouse/Civil Partner of the deceased
  • A former Spouse/Civil Partner of the deceased (who has not remarried or formed another Civil Partnership)
  • A co-habitee of the deceased (and who have been living together as man & wife for at least 2 years before the death)
  • A child of the deceased
  • A person treated as a child of the family
