Thomas Eggar and ILAWS.... in partnership to lead the way with research into the internet, the web and digital technology

We are delighted to announce a ground breaking and innovative new partnership between ourselves and ILAWS, the new Institute for Law and the Web, founded by the School of Law at the University of Southampton.

We, at Thomas Eggar LLP, recognise that new media is an emerging market and the collaboration with ILAWS will put us at the forefront of legal issues and opportunities associated with the Internet, the web and digital technology.

To mark the start of the partnership organised the first in a series of annual lectures at the University of Southampton on 17 October 2007. Professor Chris Reed, Chair of Electronic Commerce Law at Queen Mary College London, gave an address on the internet's role in today's business world and the highly topical issues surrounding the creation of new business models on the Internet, and looking in particular at the impact of websites such as Facebook.
